During the 19th Century, many house signs were made from cast iron by rural blacksmiths. Today we combine the advantages of space age materials with traditional craft methods to produce beautiful, hand-painted signs that are tough and long lasting.
Instead of cast iron, which will rust, and ceramics, which can become brittle, we use a polyurethane material cast in sand to produce a variety of shapes and sizes, with colorful motifs and custom lettering in raised relief. The motifs and letters are painted with highly durable acrylic paints. They are made to last, and need only an occasional wipe with a damp cloth to keep in pristine condition. Each of our elegant, weatherproof signs is unique. In England, the tradition of naming houses, as well as numbering them, has been established for many years, and our signs can be found adding style to a variety of residential and commercial buildings, golf courses, hotels and guesthouses.
English Country Signs offers a wide range of shapes, sizes, and
motifs which experience has shown are the most popular. (Follow

No matter what size or shape is chosen, every sign is custom made and hand painted specifically for you using our traditional techniques. As well as adding style and grace to your home, they also make ideal gifts for friends and relatives. Their artistic clarity and legibility put them in a class of their own.
Because each sign is made from scratch for each customer, manufacturing times are normally about 3-4 weeks, and shipping directly to you from the studio takes 1-2 weeks.
